Inbound IRC transfer

Reverse DCC and port forwarding

Enable reverse DCC only when the client error explicitly says that an inbound port is required.

Normal and reverse DCC

In a normal transfer, the client connects to the bot. With reverse DCC, the bot connects back to a listening port on your client device.

Configure the port

  1. Choose the TCP port or range supported by the client configuration.
  2. Forward that TCP port in your router to the local IP address of the client device.
  3. Allow the port in the device firewall.
  4. Keep the local IP stable.
  5. Restart the client and retry once.

Do not expose unnecessary ports

Forward only the port range you actually configured. Do not disable the firewall or expose unrelated services.
