Automatically pick up new software releases

Automatically download GitHub Releases

Monitor a GitHub repository and let autofetch pass assets from new releases to your local client automatically instead of checking release pages yourself.

Add a repository once

Enter a repository as owner/repo or a GitHub URL. autofetch checks releases repeatedly and creates jobs for new matching assets.

  • Select a GitHub repository
  • Optionally include prereleases
  • Filter assets with a regular expression
  • Download matching files locally

Choose only the assets you need

An asset filter can select Linux, ARM, x64, ZIP, TAR.GZ or other filenames so you do not need to download every asset attached to a release.

Built for recurring release downloads

This workflow is useful when you regularly keep software, tools or published files current or archived on your own systems.

GitLab releases are supported too

autofetch can also use GitLab releases as a source. Both providers follow the same basic workflow: monitor, filter and download locally.

Files download to your client

autofetch coordinates monitoring and jobs. The actual file is downloaded directly from GitHub to your connected client.
